Leadership for Change Internship through Smithsonian Affiliations

Interns are matched with Smithsonian museums, offices, or Affiliate organizations and participate in shared virtual programming, training, and dialogue throughout the summer.

Project areas may include:
• Community focused initiatives
• Art and object based learning
• Science engagement and education
• Educational outreach and public programs
• Storytelling as a tool for impact

Three placement models:
• Washington, DC, with participating Smithsonian museums and offices
• Affiliate museums across the country
• 50/50 experience with four weeks in DC and four weeks implementing a project in a local community

Eligibility highlights:
• Rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors
• Open to all majors
• International students enrolled at U.S. colleges may apply
• No citizenship requirement

Paid, 32 hours per week for 8 weeks, June 15-August 7, Washington, DC, Affiliate locations nationwide, or a 50/50 hybrid experience.

No prior museum experience required. This program is designed for students who want to build professional skills and explore how cultural organizations contribute to change.
