Claire Rossi de Leon, EVST ‘19, wins Library Map Prize

Congratulations to Claire Rossi de Leon, EVST ‘19! Her senior essay, “Ranging and Behavior Patterns of Black and Gold Howler Monkeys (Alouatta caraya) in Formosa, Argentina,” was selected as the first-prize winner of this year’s Library Map Prize. The prize is an award of $500.

The Library Map Prize recognizes the best use of maps in a senior essay or equivalent project.

Claire received a 2018 Summer Environmental Fellowship to research the relationships between ranging, dietary, and behavioral patterns of two groups of Howler Monkeys in Formosa, Argentina.

Claire will graduate with a BS in Environmental Studies. Following graduation, she be returning home to O’ahu, Hawai’i for a year-long fellowship with the National Park Service.  She will be doing community outreach across the island as part of the Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program.
