Essay Abstract:
This study gauges Icelandic public opinion on climate change and global warming via an eight-question survey completed by 150 randomly selected Icelanders. This data was then compiled and compared to data from polls taken by the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication (YPCCC) that asked the same questions. The results show that Icelandic citizens care more about, talk more about, and are more active in the fight against climate change. Knowing this, this study analyzed the factors that affect this perception on climate change including Iceland’s government policies, education system, and culture.
