Essay Abstract:
This essay aims to use the comparative case study method, to analyse the efforts of three human interventions towards supporting the conservation and restoration of coral reefs in the western Atlantic, wider Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico: The Atlantic and Gulf Rapid Reef Assessment (AGRRA), MPAConnect and Coral Vita. Through an in-depth examination, this paper provides the reader with generalisable knowledge about each case. This case study analysis aims to highlight the key themes, therefore providing valuable takeaway lessons regarding the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that face current conservation and restoration interventions.
