Event description:

Ocean conservation and, in particular, the designation of marine reserves is a complex process involving many actors. Some prefer a top-down approach, favoring direct work with governments to align the rest. Others opt for a bottom-up approach, strengthening the work with local communities or indigenous peoples to then permeate the authorities. In this talk we will learn about a different way. One in which the process is driven by several actors at the same time until they connect with each other, to achieve the broadest inclusion and ultimately the most ambitious outcome for conservation.
