What’s in the Air: The Perils of Environmental Reporting

Event time:
Thursday, March 3, 2022 - 6:00pm
Event description:

Last spring, ProPublica reporter Ava Kofman was assigned a major story about an environmental catastrophe. There was just one problem: it wasn’t true. But as that story fell apart, she uncovered larger issues with the underlying environmental data.

In this talk, Kofman explains how she and her colleagues got the facts straight, and how their efforts resulted in exposing the worst toxic hotspots of air pollution in the country. Her presentation will be followed by a conversation with Joanna Radin, Yale Associate Professor of History of Medicine.

This event will include live, English captioning.  Contact: Peabody Museum
