
Four Gaylord Donnelley Prizes were awarded to EVST seniors for excellent interdisciplinary scholarship demonstrated in their senior essays. The prize is an award of $500.00. The 2019 recipients are:
· Franklin Eccher The Hardier Fish: An Environmental History of Trout and Grayling Management in the Montana “Trout Paradise”. Advisor: Paul Sabin
· Cayley Geffen Monumental Conflict: The Role of Local and Regional Conflicts In the Opposition to Bears Ears National Monument. Advisor: Justin Farrell
· Miela Mayer US Cities’ Renewable Energy Targets, Rhetoric or Reality. Advisor: John Wargo
· Connor Reed Engaging open-source precision viticulture to manage spatial heterogeneity and improve cover-cropping practice on an organic vineyard. Advisor: Mark Bradford
Two 1st Place Library Prizes Winners were awarded to EVST seniors. The library awards three annual prizes for outstanding senior essays. The prize is an award of $500.00 and winning essays are published on Eli Scholar. The 2019 EVST prize winners are:
· Pascale Bronder Renewable Energy Access and Resilience in Urban Developing Areas: Distributed Solar Networks and Peer-to-Peer Energy Trading in Puerto Rico. Harvey M. Applebaum ‘59 prize for best use of the library’s collections of government documents and information. Advisor: John Wargo
· Claire Rossi de Leon Ranging and Behavior Patterns of Black and Gold Howler Monkeys (Alouatta caraya) in Formosa, Argentina. Library Map Prize for best use of maps in a senior essay. Advisor: Eduardo Fernandez-Duque
