The EVST Directors of Undergraduate Studies oversee EVST’s advising system. They can answer questions about receiving credit for a course or counting it toward the major, getting summer credits for a program, the senior essay process, and other schedule-related questions.

Kealoha Freidenburg, Ph.D.
Dr. Freidenburg is the EVST Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies, BS Program and Lecturer at YSE. She is an ecologist who conducts research in freshwater ecosystems with a particular focus on amphibians. Dr. Freidenburg teaches courses that incorporate ecology, conservation, and a field-based approach to learning. Her current focus is centered on understanding how suburban landscapes and associated land use impact amphibian populations.
Michael Fotos, Ph.D.
Professor Fotos BA-YC, MPA., PhD, is the EVST Director of Undergraduate Studies and Lecturer in Political Science. He studies the relationship between political theory and policy analysis. His earlier work focused on coal mining regulation, voter turnout, and ecosystem services.
