Paul Sabin, Ph.D.

EVST Program Co-Chair

Professor Sabin teaches United States environmental history, energy politics, and political, legal, and economic history and coordinates the Yale Environmental History working group and the Yale Environmental Humanities Program. His fields of interest include 20th century U.S. history, U.S. and global environmental history, government and political development, American West, energy and resources

Michael Fotos, Ph.D.

Director of Undergraduate Studies

Professor Fotos BA-YC, MPA., PhD, is the EVST Director of Undergraduate Studies and Lecturer in Political Science.  He studies the relationship between political theory and policy analysis.  His earlier work focused on coal mining regulation, voter turnout, and ecosystem services.

Kealoha Freidenburg, Ph.D.

Associate DUS, BS Program

Dr. Freidenburg is the EVST Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies, BS Program and Lecturer at YSE.  She is an ecologist who conducts research in freshwater ecosystems with a particular focus on amphibians.  Dr. Freidenburg teaches courses that incorporate ecology, conservation, and a field-based approach to learning. Her current focus is centered on understanding how suburban landscapes and associated land use impact amphibian populations.

EVST Program Manager

Linda Evenson B.A., M.E.M. YSE is EVST’s Program Manager. She is a former resident of Yale’s Trumbull College and Cendena College at Yale-NUS College in Singapore. She has 20 years of experience in the field of environmental science, policy, and administration.
