Zoe is a MEM candidate at Yale School of the Environment pursuing the People, Equity, and Environment Specialization. Originally from New Orleans, LA, Zoe’s environmental journey is informed by the unfortunate realities of environmental racism. Staying close to home, her interests include Cancer Alley and the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal Lock in the Lower Ninth Ward. However, she is also interested in Indigenous food systems, sustainable development, land justice, and urbanization. During her undergraduate studies, she majored in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Environmental Justice as well as a certificate in advanced foreign language in Mandarin. Before returning to YSE, she spent the first half of her gap year in Taiwan on the Light Fellowship, where she engaged in intensive language study. After returning to the US, she began working for the Yale Center for Environmental Justice as an Environmental Justice Community Fellow.
