Emma is a senior in Pauli Murray College from Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania. She is pursuing a concentration in Food and Agriculture. Emma studied abroad on the SIT IHP Food Systems program in Fall 2023, traveling to Ecuador, Malawi, and Spain. The semester abroad gave her an expanded understanding of what sustainable food systems look like in different contexts, and she is extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from and with people across the world. She even conducted her EVST senior thesis research this past summer with folks she met on the program! Emma is interested in studying the intersections of the environment, biodiversity, and socioeconomic mobility. This past summer, she interviewed farmers about their farming in Malawi as part of her senior essay. Outside courses, she is involved in research and is on the executive board of the Rural Students’ Alliance at Yale. Emma is excited to help students navigate the options for studying abroad during their time at Yale.
