Rose Hansen

Peer Mentor
EVST BS '25, Sustainability and Natural Resources

Rose Hansen is a proud Franklinite double majoring in Environmental Science (BS) and the Humanities. Following the Energy and Climate concentration, Rose has worked with the first offshore wind farm in the United States, called Vineyard Wind. This summer, Rose pursued energy research supported by the Summer Environmental Fellowship and the Benjamin Franklin Richter Fellowship. Interviewing everyone from Department of Energy officials to Uber drivers, she has studied the European approach to the energy transition; her research will become a series of podcasts for the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy. From 23-24, Rose served as the Co-President of the Yale Student Environmental Coalition, where she helped lead the delegation to the 28th Conference of the Parties in Dubai. When she’s not fighting for strong environmental policy, Rose can be found singing with her jazz a cappella group Redhot and Blue or performing in plays, musicals, and operas.
