Young In

EVST Certificate Ambassador
EVST BS '27, Biodiversity & Conservation

Young In is an Environmental Studies (B.S.) major with a concentration in Biodiversity & Conservation. He is pursuing certificates in Education Studies and Energy Studies. Young In is in Saybrook College and is a New Haven local! On campus, he is a student worker for the Peabody Museum, mentors freshmen as a FroCo, leads Saybrook Intramurals, and organizes local education initiatives through Splash at Yale. He is also involved in community environmental initiatives, serving on the City of New Haven Environmental Advisory Council and on the Edgerton Park Board of Directors. In the past, he’s worked with FOCUS and the Yale Environmental Education Collaborative (EECO). This past summer, he was in Sitka, Alaska researching the geographic drivers of Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP) in Indigenous subsistence shellfish through Yale’s summer fellowship funding. He also studied abroad at the University of Sydney in Australia during his junior spring and at School for Field Studies Turks & Caicos in the summer after his freshman year.

Young In is super happy to talk to anyone with questions about the major or certificate programs! Feel free to reach out, especially if you’re interested in pursuing an Education Studies or Energy Studies certificate (which he highly recommends people do), and say hi when you see him on campus!
