Ingalls Field Ecology Program

Gain hands-on experience in field ecology research through the Louise H. and David S. Ingalls Field Ecology Program. Interns live and work at Yale-Myers Forest in northeastern CT, joining a vibrant summer community of students and researchers. Housing & a stipend are provided.
Interns work with researchers on a current project in field ecology to collect and analyze field-based ecological data. Additional projects may be added as the field season approaches, but currently there are confirmed projects for 2026 in the following topics:
- Forest ecology and long-term vegetation dynamics
- Silviculture
- Agroforestry
The program is intended for current or newly graduated undergrads seeking research experience to further their academic or professional goals. Some coursework in environmental science, ecology, or related is useful, but not required.
