Joel Abraham

Joel Abraham EVST and E&EB ’18, is a PhD student at Princeton in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. His senior thesis, Drought-Response Strategies of Savanna Herbivores, was inspired by summer research in South Africa exploring herbivore diet and landscape use in Kruger National Park during and after a severe drought. His essay was published in Ecology and Evolution. His PhD research, also based in Kruger National Park, expands on his senior thesis research, exploring how Kruger’s herbivores impact the plants there.

“It is an immense privilege to get to study these incomparable animals and to interact with them so closely. It’s what I’ve dreamed of doing since I was a kid, and it amazes me every day that I get to live that dream.”
